Kitchen Design + Build
Our wonderful clients, Kelly & Pete, had self-built a large open-plan room to the rear of their house - overlooking the National Park in Wentworth Falls. This presented a blank canvas for the kitchen they had been dreaming of for some time.
Having seen a kitchen we designed and built for friends of theirs, they contacted us and asked if we would design a kitchen featuring similiar materials for them. The answer, and results, are self-evident. The organic-modern style, and earthy rich palette, work particularly well in the context of the environment, and the house itself, a 100 year-old timber cottage.
We look for synergies, and savings, wherever we can find them. So utilising components from IKEA mixed with purpose designed and built cabinetry elevates the space far beyond the sum of its parts. In our experience, when properly installed on custom built plinths, the IKEA carcasses are robust and extremely practical.
In this instance we teamed them with beautiful Blackwood veneered ply cabinetry (built on-site), handmade tiles, and stone benchtops. The finished space has a quiet, hand-made, sophistication that still reads as decidedly "Country'.
