GE House Bathroom/Laundry - Design + Build

A big challenge, created by a series of pre-existing small, dark spaces has been transformed into a spacious, glamorous bathroom and concealed, European laundry space.

A key element in terms of both design and practicality is a wet area pavillion within the bathroom space. In addition to the aesthetic benefits, the dropped ceiling height accommodates the plumbing fixtures from the master bedroom ensuite located above, and the added structural elements required to support the upper floor.

K&P Kitchen - Design + Build

This modern organic-style country kitchen was created from scratch within a new extension to the rear of this charming cottage.

Our clients specifically requested this style of design after seeing another kitchen we had created for
some friends of theirs.

For cost efficiency, and convenience of features, we utilised IKEA carcasses combined with custom built cabinetry made from Blackwood veneered plywood.

Multi-Residential 'X' Townhouses - Glebe NSW

This design responds sensitively to the constraints of it's medium density urban site. Maximising the availability of natural light to all three residences - with minimal sacrifice to the occupants privacy.

Materiality of construction is deliberately limited, with minimal unnecessary adornment to both exterior and interior.

DD House - Lilyfield NSW

Partial demolition - and single-storey addition and renovation - to a worker's cottage in Lilyfield. Responding to the owner's desire for a light-filled, private, south-east facing living space, amidst a crowded urban environment.

A small building envelope with limited access, and strict budgetary constraints, were the key challenges for this project.

'She Oaks' - Kangaroo Valley NSW

This large, impressive home sits on 170 magnificent acres in this beautiful part of the world. The building has great bones, but the interiors were dated and tired, and our clients wished to breathe new life into the home.

A subsequent interior design program was developed, starting
with a complete re-design and renovation of the very large kitchen area. This included the addition of large external sliding timber doors and a corresponding window, at once opening the space up to let in more natural light, whilst allowing direct access to the outdoor living areas - and celebrating the spectacular vistas from the home.

Interior Design - 'Blomst', Wentworth Falls NSW

'Blomst' ('Bloom' in Scandinavian) is a charming, sandstone and timber mid-century cottage located adjacent to the golf course in Wentworth Falls - in the beautiful Blue Mountains to the west of Sydney.

Upon purchasing the home our client wanted to move away from the French Provincial fittings and decor the previous owner's had favoured.

A complete interior program was proposed, including the sourcing and procurement of period sympathetic fittings, fixtures, furniture and decor. Thinkspace was also tasked with naming the property, and creating a logo and subsequent branded marketing materials.

Blomst now operates as a highly successful Airbnb, receiving glowing reviews from the many happy guests who enjoy it's unpretentious elegance and comfort.

B&D House - Frenchs Forest NSW

A partial demolition and two-storey extension to a small, three bedroom 70's built home on a sloping site in Frenchs Forest. Our clients wanted to retain the simple 1970's design cues in their home, happy to embrace some of the aesthetic they had grown-up with, whilst adding some sympathetic materials and textures to offset the blonde brick construction.

The resultant design embraces the 'California Ranch' style of architecture concurrent to the era in which this home was built, honouring it's suburban context and character.
